Unflinch · Effective 24 September 2026
Unflinch is a practice app for hard workplace conversations. This page explains where your words go and what is kept. It says the same thing as the consent screen in the app, in more detail.
What you type or say in a practice conversation
You can type your lines or say them out loud. If you speak, your iPhone turns speech into text on the device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere; only the text you choose to send leaves the device.
You can also have the other person's lines read aloud. When you turn that on, each of the other person's lines (text our server already generated) is sent to OpenAI to be turned into speech. Your own lines are never sent to OpenAI. If that service is unavailable, your iPhone reads the line with Apple's on-device voice instead.
Your messages in a practice session and the AI's replies are sent, over an encrypted connection, to our relay server and then to Anthropic, which generates the other person's replies and your feedback.
- Our server (Cloudflare Workers) relays the conversation and keeps no conversation text. It logs only usage counts, the scenario identifier and the number of turns. It holds a random device identifier, used to limit abuse, and any reminder time you set.
- Anthropic processes the conversation to generate replies and feedback. Anthropic keeps API requests under its usual retention terms, with exceptions for safety and legal reasons. We do not use your conversations to train models, and Anthropic's API terms do not permit training on them either.
Conversations, feedback and prep cards are stored on your device only. You can delete them at any time from Settings → Delete practice history. Withdrawing consent in Settings stops all sending until you agree again.
Please keep practice fictional: use made-up names and leave out confidential details about your workplace.
Reminders
If you set a date for the real conversation and allow notifications, we schedule one push notification through OneSignal. OneSignal receives a push subscription identifier for your device, the time you picked and a session reference. It never receives the conversation or the scenario name. The notification says only "How did it go?". You can change or cancel it in the app until it is delivered.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase receipts from Apple so that your subscription works across reinstalls. We do not see your payment details.
What we do not do
- No account, no login, no server-side history.
- No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no selling of data.
- No recording of real conversations. The app only works with the text you type or dictate to it, and dictation stays on your iPhone.
Your choices
- Withdraw AI consent: Settings → Withdraw consent.
- Delete everything stored on the device: Settings → Delete practice history.
- Turn off reminders: cancel in the app, or disable notifications for Unflinch in iOS Settings.
- Report a response you think is wrong or harmful: Settings → Report a response, or email kamlabz.app@gmail.com.
Children
Unflinch is intended for working adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the app will ask for consent again before the next practice session.
